The Royal Aberdeen Golf Club is one of the six oldest clubs in the world and you should not forget to include it in your repertoire. It is a typical sand and dunes course. The Old Course is not a monster with regard to its length, but nevertheless straight and long shots are required to master the natural and artificial obstacles. If you have not been as successful in the dunes as you wished, you have another chance on the second course, which is shorter and less strenuous. Ot is interesting to note that the five-minute rule for searching for a lost ball originated here. Royal Aberdeen's course is rated #30 of "The 100 greatest courses in the British Isles", Golf World 11/96.
