Helsingin Golfklubi, founded in 1932, is one of the oldest clubs in Finland. The fairways are generously laid out and are harmoniously set in the typical countryside with its many many lakes. That means for the player that he or she will be confronted with many water hazards on the round. On three holes, a brook is waiting to catch stray balls. Each of the 18 holes presents another challenge to the golfer - even if there is no water. The five par 3's might let you relax, only on the 13th an accurate shot is required to reach the well-protected green - 5 bunkers - if you want to maintain the chance for a par. On this course the sandwedge proves to be your most important companion. Other attractions: Helsinki the capital of the country, you can visit the Finnish National Museum, the Modern Rock Church which is covered with a huge glass dome as well as many other places like the Market Place in the southern harbour which is most interesting in the early morning hours.
