Comments/Description
Situated on the Spanish Costa del Sol (between Málaga and Marbella), 12 kilometres from the Mediterranean and 12 kilometres from Málaga International Airport, in the municipal area of Alhaurin de la Torre, there is the golf course "Los Caracolillos" of Lauro Golf. With magnificent views of the mountains and the sea, the course has been constructed in an area of considerable natural beauty and excellent year round climate. The property covers a total area of 1500 hectares/3,703 acres, on part of which the 18-hole course has been built. The clubhouse is located in a beautifully restored Cortijo, and the land is planted with pines and fruit trees - oranges, lemons, olives, figs and many others - and adjoins the protected forest area of the «Sierra de Mijas» mountain range. This eighteen-hole parkland course has been carefully levelled, and features eight lakes and olive tree- lined fairways. The hazards are clearly visible and no hidden traps complicate your game on this truly honest course. The course was designed by the late Mr. Folco Nardi, the outstanding Italian golf course designer, who sadly did not live to see the course finished. Lauro Golf is therefore his last project out of more than 200 courses completed in his lifetime, in Florida, Italy and Spain, as well as in other parts of the world. On the Costa del Sol he designed Guadalmina Golf, Miraflores Golf, La Axarquia and Lauro Golf whose layout received best marks from many professionals. The course was recently selected by the Andalusian Golf Federation for the Final of the Children's Circuit and it has been chosen for the Finals of the Seniors' Circuit. The clubhouse, a restored antique Cortijo (a Spanish farmhouse) of great character and charm, includes a restaurant, bar and changing rooms. The clubhouse and adjoining buildings are set around a large and extremely attractive Spanish patio.
While every effort has been made to assure accuracy, we advise you to check all information with the golf course before booking your tee-time or driving to the course.
